In Development 2008: SOS and Travelling Light: Short Sharp Shots
In 2006 SOS produced the hugely popular WAITING at the Southville Centre.
Using this as a model, we’re working with Travelling Light Young People’s Theatre Company to create a version for young audiences and their families.
Travelling Light Theatre Company and Show of Strength have now selected 25 young people to take part in the SHORT SHARP SHOTS Young Writers’ project. All the young people who applied were asked to pitch their idea for a monologue. Those that have got through to the next stage will take part in a development day at the Watershed on Sunday 30 March 08. The young writers will then have six weeks to write and hone their scripts, culminating with rehearsed readings by local actors. We will then be seeking six young people to write a monologue for a whole weekend of monologues which is scheduled to take place at the end of 2008.
