Although sadly neglected today, it is said that St Anne’s Well in Brislington, Bristol was once one of the most important sites of pilgrimage in the British Isles – visited by royalty and nobles, sailors and merchants and good old Bristol folk alike.

From May to July, Show of Strength will be in Brislington running free writing workshops based around the history of St Anne’s Well and the old pilgrim route as part of a season of other delightful walks, talks and events, culminating in a Community Celebration of St Anne’s Well on Saturday 28 July.

Writing workshops take place on:
Tue 15 May Arnos Manor Hotel, Bath Rd 7-9pm
Mon 21 May Wick Road Library, 7-9pm
Sat 9 June The Wigwam (Scout Hut), Brookside Rd, 10am-12noon
